The Pack Finds Two Women Walking the American Discovery Trail to California

You can imagine our surprise a few days ago when we ran directly into two women, backpacking with walking sticks in the snow. We had Bodhi, Elijah, and our little Tumo girl for a run, and as they crested the hill, we KNEW there were either people or dogs on the other side. The wagging tails gave them away, and when we got to the sign for Pulpit Rock in our great National Forest here in Washington DC, there they were........

It was abvious from their packs that they were on a trek and when we stopped to talk to them, we found out that they are on a journey from Delaware to California to help raise awareness for Aplastic Anemia. One of the women, Robin, is an Aplastic Anemia survivor, and she and her companion. Patty, were on a journey that was to last for 8 - 9 months, walking 5000 miles in trails. We asked if they were camping and they have Angels along the way which have been opening their homes and hearts to these two.

Please take a look at Robin and Patty's site to see their progress - http://www.aamds.org/ourhike/ and if you can extend a hand, please do. These are courageous woemn who deserve our support. By the way, the pack loved them!
