« September 2005 | Main | November 2005 » October 13, 2005Shadow - Female Malamute Needs Loving HomeThis is a courtesy posting: As you can see she is a bit on "chubby" side as the lacks exercise. My mother who is 79 years old walks her in the morning at 6:00AM every day. She cannot walk her later in the day as she might pull on the leash if she sees other dogs and she is a strong dog and my mother is not that strong. Shadow is a wonderful dog. She is house broken and very mellow in temperament. I am sad to have to give her away but she and my smaller dog cannot be left to play together. Shadow would be best around older people with no small, young kids. She gets jumpy around small kids and since she was abused as a young dog she is afraid that someone will hurt her. Around adults she is fine. She is very shy around men and does not like men who wear caps. She must be fed alone and no one can get close to her bowl of food while she is eating. She enjoys being outside but she likes to come in the house and cuddle up. She does enjoy people's company. We have had her for 3 years and it took her a long time to warm up to us. Now she is funny in the mornings, but in the evenings she likes to sleep and not be disturbed. She likes popcorn and she also likes to lick your cup of coffee. Sometimes you will find her in the bath tub or rubbing her neck in stinky shoes. Or she will take a towel that smells musty and rub herself in it. She is good in the house and likes to look out the window and sit high. She normally sits on my daughter's bed, window open, and watches everything that goes on outside. You can reach me at work at (703) 516-7835. Regards, UPDATED 01/04/05 from Jeanine Hubler - the owner: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I understand that Shadow was picked up by Marvin and his family and that they called my husband saying that they wanted to keep her. Apparently the two boys enjoy playing with her. My husband commented that Marvin had owned hybrids before and that he was very comfortable around her. Marvin apparently lifted Shadow into his truck and she did not mind, which is quite surprising.
