Art Hop 2012 – A Neighborhood Transformed in Old Takoma

On Saturday and Sunday, March 24th and 25th, Main Street Takoma’s annual Art Hop will once again transform Old Takoma’s main street into a neighborhood arts district. This year’s event will showcase a variety of art including photography, jewelry and wearable art, sculpture, installations, and a plethora of collage and mixed media works from more than 30 artists in shops throughout Old Town, The Junction and Takoma DC. We have more street music and artist demonstrations planned this year. Enjoy a day or the entire weekend, but don’t miss Art Hop and the chance to see a sampling of local art like you’ve never seen before.

Come on out on Friday March 23rd to the Artist’s Opening reception at the Landis Building to help kick off our annual Arts event here in Old Takoma! Artist’s Reception from 6:30 to 9:00pm at 6059 Blair Rd, Washington DC 20012 on the 3rd floor.

Art Hop Artist Viewings over the Weekend

Artists will be all over town in locations waiting to be discovered by you! We are privileged to have Jeanne Walter Garvey at The Big Bad Woof exhibiting her wonderful assemblages. All works will be on sale throughout the weekend s if you fall in love, that piece may go home with you.
